Wear, Watch, Want #289: The Loud, Deep Sea Cushion Edition

Wear: Treblab HD-Max Portable Speaker

I was sent this speaker to review and my first thought was “OK WOW HUGE.” This thing is LARGE. This is a speaker for pool parties, beach parties, and other things I rarely, if ever, attend. So I just kind of kept it for awhile, waiting to see if I ever became a “bring a huge speaker to a hangout” person. And then I got invited to a pool party! The Treblab HD-Max speaker was set up near (but not too near) the pool and we had perfect music the whole afternoon. The sound quality is clear, the bluetooth connection super easy, and it even comes with a carrying strap… because did I mention this speaker is LARGE?

Watch: Subnautica

I wrote about Subnautica when I first started playing, and in my initial WWW that mentioned it, I said I preferred Below Zero. I would like to retract my statement. At that point I hadn’t played Below Zero that much, and I was really just speaking about the biomes and the fact that my character was a woman. I still like those things (I DO prefer the biomes in BZ, at least the underwater ones), but I have a LOT of complaints about Below Zero (mainly that you can complete the game without ever doing anything related to WHY you came to this planet in the first place). OG Subnautica, on the other hand, is my favorite game and I recently bought a second (digital) copy because I wanted to have it on my Switch at all times (I had a physical copy before). Only semi-related, but I’ve been watching Subnautica videos on YouTube and while I knew the Switch version wasn’t the best, I had no idea how it looked on other platforms. Do I need a Playstation or whatever solely to play Subnautica with the most gorgeous graphics?? No… But if the opportunity presented itself to play in VR or on a super fancy system, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Want: Large Pincushion

I’ve been sewing lately and my pincushion system is abysmal. After shopping around a little bit, I realized I should just make one. I got this pattern on Etsy and my plan was to use scraps of my favorite fabrics, but I think I’m going to make a whole one out of this Halloween fabric instead.
