Bury Me With My Pillow Cube

I’ve mentioned my Pillow Cube in the past, once when I had only had it for a couple of days/weeks, and again when I shared all the things I would repurchase instantly if they ever left my life, but I’ve recently started changing my pillowcase every day (my skin is NOT being nice to me lately) and spending that extra time with my Pillow Cube (and its special pillow case) every day made me want to dedicate some time to evangelize about this amazing little thing.

I found out about the Pillow Cube from Disability Twitter, which has helped me discover so many things that have changed my life. I’m immediately interested in anything recommended by a disabled person that they say helps with sleep. For me, sleep is fraught with pain and stress and even injury. I have gotten tennis elbow from sleeping with my arms hyperextended — did you even know that’s possible?? Now you do! It sucks!

The Pillow Cube is for side sleepers, and helps to keep your neck straight and supported while you’re snoozing away. The pillow is soft but firm. so while you are being held in a specific position, it’s very comfortable. Now, after sleeping with a Pillow Cube for three years, I find non-cube pillows UNcomfortable. So much so that I bring my Pillow Cube with me when I travel by car, and have the room for this chunk of comfort (I once traveled by plane to manage some labor-intensive family things and after one night of sleep ordered a pillow cube AND paid for faster delivery).

The Pillow Cube has not only helped me sleep better, it’s helped me wake up better. By which I mean wake up without myriad aches and pains. There are still some pains sometimes, but before my Pillow Cube getting out of bed would be a process. I’d have to assess and figure out what hurt and how much I could move, then slowly adjust and get up. Now I can get right up out of bed and not have to worry that my neck and shoulders are out of place and will give me a stabbing pain when I finally decide to move.

Like I said before, if anything happened to my Pillow Cube I would buy a new one immediately. I cannot sleep without this miraculous little thing.
