These Tiny Metal Funnels are Just as Satisfying as TikTok Makes Them Seem
I get mesmerized by restock videos on TikTok. Unfortunately, they also give me a bad case of the shoppies. Mostly they make me want a huge kitchen in a custom built home in Utah, but since that is far from my life plan, it’s easy to ignore. The little things, however? I WANT ‘EM. The tiny metal funnels restockers use to put their spices from one container into another, more aesthetically soothing container had me in a months-long chokehold, so I bought myself some.
I keep my spices in the containers I bought them in, like the pleb that I am, but I decant a lot of other stuff. I had been either relying on 1) My own hand-eye coordination, or 2) A silicone funnel that WAS collapsible, but hasn’t been for a long time. Neither option was great! A funnel is a perfect Home Goods purchase, and I was determined to find one for $3 there or at one of Home Goods’ sister stores. ALL the funnels, distressingly, were silicone. So I went to Hell, AKA Amazon, and bought myself a set of 6 itty bitty metal funnels.
These funnels are small — honestly smaller than I expected, whoops — but they’re perfect for small jobs. I decant my coffee syrups into smaller Torani bottles (I wrote about it here, it’s a good system) and these funnels make is SO much neater. I did have to learn to pour slowly, but that’s a mistake I’ve only made once.
To clean them, I just toss the funnels into the basket in my dishwasher (the one with a lid so they don’t go flying around) and it works great. I also appreciate that each funnel is individually wrapped in plastic, so you can use what you need (for me, two funnels) and the rest are kept nice and neat and ready to use when you need them.
I am still hunting around for a larger metal funnel, but for tiny jobs, these itsy bitsy funnels are working great. Plus, they let me feel like a Utah mom, without, you know, all the rest of it.
