Wear, Watch, Want #244: The Small Gay Treat Edition
Wear: Silicone Dog Treat Pouch
My puppy, Gus, is afraid to take walks. He’s in some intensive training, where we take walks and he gets a BUNCH of hot dog pieces as a reward for being so brave, then after 5 minutes we go home because he’s scared. These silicone treat pouches are a lifesaver. First, they’re dishwasher safe. I don’t wash them all the time, but when I want to freshen them up I like that I can put them in The Great Sanitizer (I open the pouch around some of the little stick holder things so the dishwasher can clean the inside easily). AND, because we often have hot dog pieces leftover after a 5 minute walk, I can just throw the pouch into the fridge for next time. There’s a magnet at the top to keep the pouches closed, but also very easy to reach your hand into, and a clip on the back so you can put your pouch just about anywhere. Now if only I could get Gus out for longer than 5 minutes.
Watch: A League of Their Own
A League of Their Own, the film, is not a cultural touchstone for me like it is for many. I don’t dislike it, and if we still lived in an era of channel surfing and I found it playing I’d sit and watch, but I don’t know all the lines — I don’t even know character names. A League of Their Own the TV show, however, is all it’s been hyped up to be and more. Does it make me mad about Pitch getting cancelled all over again? Of course it does! I’ll be mad every day of my life! Does it make me mad Amazon cancelled their other period piece girl power show, Good Girls Revolt? OMG YES. But I can push those grievances aside (that’s a lie) to enjoy and adore A League of Their Own.
Want: Small Torani Syrup
I decided that I needed to get a solid daily routine again, and part of that was going to be to make myself a little fancy coffee in the morning. I bought a nespresso, I have five kinds of milks and creamers in my fridge, and syrups in the cabinet. The only thing annoying me is that the regular 750ml bottles are too tall to keep in my cabinet. I don’t have room for a whole coffee station with a bunch of syrups and pumps, plus I like hiding away all my crap in a cabinet. The PERFECT bottles are the 375ml ones. They are plastic, they can stand upright on the shelf in my cabinet, and they come with a little pour spout so you don’t make a sloppy sticky mess trying to add syrup to your milk. The tiny bottles come in limited flavors, though, and I want to try multiple syrups. I have been HUNTING for bottles but I think I might just need to work my way through some 375ml vanilla syrups so I can decant my larger bottles into repurposed small vanilla bottles. That will take ages - I may have to make myself TWO fancy coffees a day.
