I Love My Peloton So Much, I Bought It a New Outfit

It’s well established that riding my bike to nowhere is one of my favorite parts of the day. I already have a great setup, but I’m always looking for ways to improve. The latest way I’ve plussed my setup? A Spintowel.

The Spintowel is a two piece set that includes a cover for your bike handlebars and a towel with a handy elastic loop on it, and there are versions compatible with both Peloton bikes, and Schwinn stationary bikes as well. I got the set in my favorite color, leopard print. The handlebar towel fits easily and quickly, and provides a nice barrier between your sweaty hands and your bike. I have hand and wrist pain from arthritis, and while the Spintowel doesn’t provide a ton of cushioning, it does help me to remember not to put too much pressure on the handlebars.

The separate towel is a great workout towel, in plush terry cloth, but and the elastic band is loose enough that you can loop it around your handlebar or wrist without having to finagle, stretch, and struggle with it. I often lay my towel over the handlebars while I ride, and having a fixed towel on the handlebars, plus a separate towel for wiping away sweat, feels luxurious.

My only complaints are that the towels come in a set, and only a set. I need a fresh towel for every ride, but I don’t always feel like my handlebar towel needs a wash (all pieces are machine washable).. I’d love to have, say, two handlebar towels and four or six separate hand towels. I like this set so much, though, that I’m sure I’ll buy a second one eventually, and I have ordered a Dripmitt to see if that will work as an alternative hand towel. The set of Spintowels is $44, but it is not hard to find a coupon code, which will at the very least save you sales tax. Plus, if you already know you ride your bike a lot, and know the value of good gear/accessories, it’s a worthwhile investment.
