Rest Your Ears On These Beauties
I have a bit of an obsession with silver hoop earrings. I won't tell you how many pairs I have, but I will say that I need every one and I certainly don't have enough. In Wear, Watch, Want #19 I wrote about a pair of hoops from Anthropologie that had caught my eye, and that had not lost one bit of my adoration by being called "gaudy" by a reviewer. In fact, I think that made me love them more. I went to my local Anthro with every intention of buying those gaudy beauties, but I saw a pair of earrings hanging next to them that I liked even more - the crescent moon hoops. I bought them and they've been my absolute favorite earrings ever since. I wear them all the time and I absolutely can't get enough. They're delicate, but also enormous. They go with every outfit, so you can dress them up or keep them casual. They're just perfection. And they just had babies.
I always have to stop and browse the jewelry before I leave Anthropologie, and when I saw a mini version of my favorite earrings, and on sale no less, I couldn't grab them fast enough. Plus, not only were they on the sale rack, everything in the store was an additional 20% off. It was a shopping miracle.
The smaller version of my beloved silver hoops, called the tiered crescent hoops, are slightly different from the large crescents. Besides the obvious change in size, the small hoops are in two pieces, so the decorative crescent part is separate from the hoop/fastener part. This means that the earrings can bend at the point of attachment - although they don't actually do this when you're wearing them - and it makes them seem a little more delicate. The larger hoops are all one piece, so they have more of a sturdy feel, although they are light as a feather and still have a completely delicate vibe, it's a different type of delicacy, if that makes sense. (I hope it does, because I wrote that paragraph a few times, and believe it or not, this was the best version.)
I cannot rave enough about these earrings. They're gorgeous, light as air, perfect for all occasions, and conveniently, completely affordable. They both come in gold too, if that's how you choose to live your life. Plus, I don't think any reviewers have called either of these earrings gaudy yet, and I can't imagine they could. But if they do, that's just another thing to add to the "Pro" column.
