I Loved How Skin1004 Sunscreen Made my Skin Look, So I Bought the Matching Moisturizer. It’s Incredible.
After trying many East Asian sunscreens, and even declaring some of them my Holy Grail Faves, I have found one that I’ve stuck with for over a year: SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50 PA++++. It’s not just that it feels lighter than water on my skin, or that it provides amazing sun protection while smelling like nothing and can get inside my eyes with zero irritation. This sunscreen has made my skin look GREAT. I’m glowing. It’s miraculous stuff.
So here I am with this great daytime skincare that was doing me every favor it could, but then at night I had to give it up and use my usual old stuff. Not to say CeraVe, Cosrx Snail Mucin, and La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 are BAD, but I was using multiple products in an attempt to get/enhance the glow I got from my SKIN1004 sunscreen, and they weren’t really performing the miracles I was dreaming of. This wasn’t a front-of-mind concern, just something I’d think of as I was applying my lotions and potions every night. Then I saw an endcap at Tj Maxx featuring a whole slew of SKIN1004 products. My beloved sunscreen wouldn’t be there (because America continues to be the great experiment that continually fails), but there WAS a moisturizer with packaging that looked exactly like the sunscreen I love (albeit with no sunscreen).
SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Moisture Cream IS my sunscreen without the sunscreen. The formula is a little more watery and the packaging is terrible in comparison, but the product itself gives me the same glowy, dewy, healthy look that I get from my daily sunscreen. BUT this one I can use at night — along with my snail sauce, AND lock it all in with a layer of Aquaphor on particularly dry areas — and the results are incredible.
My one complaint about this nearly perfect product is the packaging. Maybe it’s me, but the little flippy top never feels fully closed (it’s never leaked, but it still makes me nervous) and, either because of the lid/tube or the consistency of the product, you can accidentally squeeze out too much product so easily. Why can’t it just come in a pump tube like the sunscreen?? Or a better version of how it’s packaged now?? This is not a big enough problem for me to stop using SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Moisture Cream, though. It just makes my skin look SO DAMN GOOD.
