I Have a House Full of Vintage Furniture. Here Are the Pieces I, and Others, Recommend
At least half of my furniture is antique. I inherited just about all of it, but only because I grew up with parents who frequented flea markets and antique stores and knew how to refinish furniture (back when this was a way to get furniture for cheap! Imagine!). Solid oak tables, bookcases, buffets, and more were what I grew up around, and when I moved and had to leave all my (not nearly as nice) furniture behind, I was lucky my parents were downsizing and were happy to give me those same pieces I’d known all my life. I was thrilled to have Redfin reach out and ask me about vintage furniture shopping and the pieces I always look out for. Yes, I do have furniture and I don’t necessarily need any more, but I always check quality and prices — it’s in my blood. For me, I’m always looking out for barrister bookcases. One sits under my TV, so I see it every day, and it’s just such a versatile piece that could really work in any room of my, or your, house.
