I Decant Just About Everything, Which Feels Very Chic When I Use These Little Amber Pots

A little over a year ago I discovered my new favorite beauty product. It was a lip balm, a cuticle cream, a dry skin savior, and an entirely budget friendly miracle. Lanolin, where was I before you? (Hell.)

I mentioned in my first post about lanolin, which is truly the greatest lip balm, that the trick is to buy straight up lanolin, or nipple cream, made of 100% lanolin. If you want to buy a “lanolin” lip balm with other stuff in it, that’s not a bad choice, but it’s a lot of extra faff when the core ingredient is cheaper and simpler.

My preferred lanolin is Lansinoh Nipple Cream, which comes in a fairly large tube (I reviewed it here). I’d keep one tube next to my bed and another one next to my couch, but they were large, said “NIPPLE CREAM” on them, and I wanted something more easily transportable. I tried the mini tubes Lansinoh offers, but they were too fiddly and just didn’t work that well. No idea why it took me so long to realize I could just decant the tubes into little pots, but it did.

I ordered this set of four 1oz plastic jars in amber and decanted what remained of my Lansinoh tubes into them. Then I had a very chic looking pot for 1) Next to my couch, 2) Next to my bed, 3) In my bag and 4) In my car. The containers are entirely plastic, but because they’re amber with black lids they look much nicer than say, a clear container with a white lid from a travel set or something. These jars are easy to use, easy to fill, lightweight, and look decent if you leave them out on your nightstand or side table. (Pro-tip, if you want to get every last bit of product decanted, use a tube wringer.) I can’t believe it took me a year to have this realization and make this upgrade, but these little amber jars were worth the wait, and now we can move forward looking chic and moisturized at all times.
