The Calming Patches Helping My Breakouts Heal in a Flash

In my rabid hunt to find anything to help my Rinvoq-induced acne, I was using up all my various acne patches, pre, during, and post breakout. I was ready to order more of the Mighty Patch Dark Spot patches, but naturally I started clicking around and ended up also ordering a box of EasyDerm Quick Calming Magnesium Patches. “Quick Calming” was exactly what I was looking for, and I liked that there was an added step of putting some cica gel ON the patch — if it feels like a science experiment, it feels more effective.

There’s a learning curve to using these patches and they’re not cheap, so I’d recommend playing around with the cica gel on your hand before you actually apply to the patch. If you add anything more than the tiniest drop of cica gel, the patch gets covered in gel and is useless. Even now, after many many uses, I always apply some cica gel to the back of my hand to get a feel for how it’s coming out, then I apply a microscopic drop to the patch (that I’ve already peeled off the backing and am holding with tweezers, ready to apply). There are some “tweezers” included in the box but they are absolute garbage, and I’m assuming you already have tweezers for applying your other pimple patches, so just use those.

EasyDerm Calming Patches aren’t entirely clear — there’s a little honeycomb looking metallic spot in the middle. These are meant to be worn overnight, so it’s not a big deal that you have a little cyborg accessory, but if you’re planning on wearing these outside of the house (I have, but it was covered by a mask) it’s just something to be aware of.

I use the EasyDerm Calming Patches for breakouts that aren’t really active anymore, but the skin where the breakout was is red, peely, and/or otherwise irritated. They help reduce inflammation and redness, and help those oozy spots heal much faster. While these patches are a little pricey compared to others, I really think they fit into a niche my collection was lacking until now. Plus, I think anyone who has experienced seemingly unbeatable breakouts knows we will spend whatever it takes, and take however much time it takes, to get it under control.
