The Cuticle Oil That Makes Me Feel Like a Pro Nail Artist

I’m still a press-on fanatic, but I decided to take a small break and see if I could get my nails in slightly better shape before gluing falsies on them again. And this time, I’m trying to actually stay committed and do what I set out to, vis-à-vis nail care. After a lot of research (reading nail reddit) I learned that I should use a jojoba based oil, and that I should probably make my own or just use pure jojoba oil. I’m not making my own cuticle oil and while I don’t mind the idea of just buying jojoba oil, I’d probably also need to buy a dropper bottle or something so I don’t make a huge mess, and at that point, why not just buy a jojoba-based nail oil, right? So that’s what I did, and it’s great.

Cuccio Cuticle Oil Milk and Honey

I have tried many cuticle moisturizers over the years, and reviewed them here. The one that’s really stuck around is the Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab Oil Balm, which I would still recommend! But nail reddit taught me that jojoba oil has smaller molecules that can penetrate into your nail itself, which is good, or so I’m told. I have no idea if I believe this, but it was enough to get me to purchase a bottle of Amazon’s best-selling cuticle oil, Cuccio Naturalé Cuticle Revitalizing Oil.

This oil comes in many sizes and scents, but I went with milk and honey, solely because eons ago I was obsessed with the scent of Kiehl’s Soy Milk & Honey Body Butter. And as for size, I was planning on getting the smaller 0.5oz bottle, but I’ll be honest with you, that one wouldn’t come for four days and the 2.5oz would come the next day, so I went for the larger one. The price difference was very small ($3), and I figured why not spend $10 and see if this oil lives up to the hype and can actually help my raggedy nails, as soon as tomorrow.

I did not expect this oil to make me feel like a manicure artiste, but somehow it does. The bottle itself is glass, the labeling is simple, and the dropper is much easier and faster than a brush. But the part that gets me is the shape of the bottle. Online it seemed like a simple sphere, but oh no, it’s got a small flat edge so the bottle can sit at a slight angle — it’s a tiny thing but it makes me feel so fancy.

I apply by taking the dropper and kind of waving it over my nails, I don’t need to squeeze at all. Then I just rub the oil in and carry on with whatever I’m doing. The oil absorbs well, so you’re not dealing with greasy little fingertips all day, and the scent is exactly like Kiehl’s Soy Milk & Honey, which is divine. The scent fades quickly and isn’t very strong to begin with, which I actually like. I don’t really want to be smelling my hands while I’m typing, and it helps keep dogs from wanting to be all in your business and lick your fingers.

Is Cuccio Naturalé Cuticle Revitalizing Oil revitalizing my nails as promised? Maybe! I will say, it feels luxurious to use, it doesn’t get in the way of me living my life, and my nails do feel like they’re better than they were before this oil.
