Wear: Compostable Straws

There is no reason to avoid plastic straws, don’t get me started on STRAW DISCOURSE, but my city composts (many “compostable” products aren’t backyard compostable), and I use 1-2 straws per day, so why not get compostable ones? I had a stockpile from a time when Target was getting rid of some big packs of compostable straws for $0.99 each, and I finally ran out. There are one million options in the eco-straw arena, and all I really wanted was what I had before - a straw that acts and feels just like a plastic straw, but I can throw in my city’s industrial compost. I chose these, partly because I liked that they were bendy, and they’re working great. Will repurchase! Will continue to use straws because they are PERFECTLY FINE.

Watch: Yellowjackets and Succession

I didn’t watch a single new thing this week because we are in a PEAK TV season where Yellowjacket and Succession are airing at the same time. Yellowjackets is available to stream on Fridays, but in terms of on-air, both shows are literally on at the same time. #blessed

Want: House Numbers (On the Door)

My house numbers are not near my door. In fact, if you are standing AT my door, you cannot see the house numbers at all. This has worked fine for decades (decades!) until my neighborhood got busier and new people moved in and now I get other people’s deliveries on a regular basis. I got a stoner’s 11pm order of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Gatorade, I’ve gotten a few mystery packages (because I know now to double check the address before I open anything), and this week I got a whole pizza. I figure I can decrease wrong deliveries if I put the house numbers right in the middle of my door, so that’s what I’m going to do. We’ll see what happens. Sidenote: It is surprisingly difficult to find nickel house numbers that aren’t in gentrification font.
