Wear: Athleta Rock Ridge Vest

Fall is vest season. It’s the perfect layer to throw on over a long sleeved tee for a long walk with the dog through the fallen leaves. I recently upgraded to this vest from Athleta. It has a double zipper, which is indispensable for anyone with large hips, and stretchy fabric on the sides that lets you move freely (and potentially wear something bulky underneath). This vest is already in heavy rotation, and I’ll probably be wearing it most days till Thanksgiving.

Watch: Succession

I didn’t watch Succession when the first season aired, because I saw trailers for it and thought it looked boring. But here’s the thing: No one told me it was funny. Succession is absolutely a comedy, and a whip smart, laugh-out-loud one at that. While the second season was airing I binged through the first, and then caught up with the second, and watched the last few episodes in real time. I am really and truly obsessed. I picked up my mom from the train station this week and when she asked if I was watching Succession I reenacted this entire scene. She has never seen the show.

ALSO, Succession has the best theme song, maybe ever, and the Shiv influence is so strong I continually wonder if I should get a Power Bob and start wearing high-waisted, wide-leg trousers. (I should not.) Ooh and remember her backless turtleneck?? Amazing. And I’ve been thinking about her sun hat from the yacht for a week.

Want: Dansko Maci Slides

I tried on these slides this summer and fell in love with them. If I still lived in Southern California, which would make these shoes wearable virtually year-round, I would have bought them then and there. But now I’m a Pacific Northwesterner, and I decided that I would wait till they were on sale and buy them then. I found them for less than $100 AND got an extra 20% off. They’re on their way to me now. So I guess what I want is to fast forward to June 2020 when it’s finally appropriate to wear them?
