I'm Chronically Ill, So Believe Me When I Tell You This is The Best Thermometer

I got my second Shingrix vaccine (I wrote about shot one here), and thankfully this time I was prepared! I had a paper prescription for the second vaccine from my rheumatologist, I went to the exact same pharmacy location that I went to for my first shot, so they’d have all my info already, and I had my mom come down to stay here and take care of the dog (and me!) while I was incapacitated the day after. Did it take 45 minutes at the pharmacy for me to get the shot? Yes! Did I have to explain to a pharmacy tech what I was asking for three times? Also yes! But am I now fully vaccinated against shingles? HELL YEAH.

The big difference between the second shot and the first was that I had a fever pretty much all day right after shot two. I got up to 102°! Things were cooking! I only knew I had a fever all day and how high it got becasue I have the greatest thermometer, which I bought impulsively on Amazon when I had covid and my old thermometer said my temp was 86°.

The iHealth No-Touch Digital Infrared Thermometer is the best thermometer I’ve ever used, and possibly the greatest thermometer you can buy. It’s small, quiet, and easy to read. You don’t need to touch anyone to get their temp, not even their forehead, so it’s great for multiple people to use. There is ONE button, so it’s also simple to understand and use.

To use, you simply hold the thermometer about an inch away from the potential fever-haver and hold down the button. When the thermometer vibrates, the temp is ready to read, and it’s displayed in large LED lights that can be seen in any light (or lack thereof). The thermometer automatically shuts off, and it’s ready to use the next time you need it. SO SIMPLE. When you or someone you care about has a fever, you don’t want to mess around with multiple buttons and modes and sensor issues, you just want the information you need, and fast.

In just a few months I’ve used my iHealth No-Touch Digital Infrared Thermometer more times than any other thermometer I’ve ever owned, mainly because it’s SO easy (also, I am immunocompromised during a global pandemic). It’s around $20, which may seem like a lot for a thermometer, but it is absolutely worth it. Think of it this way, you could buy this thermometer, or buy three cheaper thermometers until you realize you should just buy this one. Any future fevers will make you glad you have this thermometer in your home.
