Take Your Candle Setup to the Next Level

Who knows how certain TikToks end up on a person’s For You Page, but sometimes it’s like TikTok knows what you heart wants before you know yourself. Somehow I ended up being served a TikTok about candles, and now I am fully into WickTok and I want to change my entire life to fit this lifestyle. I’m still in the phase where i think there is absolutely no way a $30 candle is “affordable” (this phase may very likely last forever), but I am trying to maintain my candles and act like I know what I’m doing and I’m part of the “lifestyle.” Basically, i bought a snuffer and a wick trimmer.

I shopped around a bit and decided this set from CB2 was 1) Priced well, 2) Fit my desired aesthetic, and 3) Was easy to get at my local CB2 store. One note: This set is sold out online, but the snuffer alone is in stock online, AND apparently they have been out of stock in the store since January, but I just walked in, picked up one of each from a little vase that had at least 5 of each in it, and I was out of there in about 6 minutes. SO, in short, YMMV. There’s also an extremely similar set at Crate & Barrel, but it’s more shiny gold than brass. There are also a ton on Amazon and Etsy but the price wasn’t that different and reviews were mixed, so I went with a store I could return to easily if they were absolute trash. But so far so good!

I’ve also ordered a USB lighter from USB Lighter Company that is coming soon. I got the Motli Light, because I liked the look of it best. Insider tip: While you can buy USB Lighter Company lighters from places like Anthropologie and Food 52, the discount codes for the actual USB Lighter Company website are unreal. I did a quick Google for discount codes, and I ended up getting 45% off. So not only will I be sustainably lighting my candles, I’ll be the queen of bargains, AND with a cool candle aesthetic. Here’s my current living room setup:
