Spritz Your Cares Away - Or at Least Take a Few Seconds to Chill - With a Facial Mist
Shopping is now an excursion. You need to prepare yourself, and take precautions, and you can’t (and probably don’t want to) do it very often. This whole *gestures broadly* thing has made me realize that I used to go shopping a lot. The barre studio I went to (go to? I mean, I’m planning on going back… someday) is around the corner from a Whole Foods, and I was in the habit of stopping for two or three things after class, if I realized I needed milk or whatever. Now I have a running list that I keep adding to for weeks until I absolutely have to go out, and when I do, I take whatever steps I can to lessen the stress. This usually means adding things to my shopping cart simply because they make me happy.
Boscia is a brand I have loved for years, and the fact that they sell tons of Boscia stuff at Costco makes it even better. When I was making my huge Costco run (more on that later this week) and I took my usual browse through the beauty aisles, I saw they they had Boscia Rosewater Mist with Witch Hazel. It was $10 and I thought, “That sparks joy!” and tossed it in the cart. I had an image of myself spritzing my face throughout the day, stuck at home but still taking time for beauty rituals.
That’s.. kind of true. What I really love this mist for is when I’m yes, stuck at home, but instead of swanning around like an ingenue I’m feeling overwhelmed, lost, and frustrated. I have taken to keeping this mist on my coffee table, or other central location, and when I’m feeling like it’s all a little MUCH I give myself a few spritzes and it soothes me. Look, it’s not changing my whole life, and it’s no substitute for pharmaceuticals, but it’s a nice ritual that takes me out of my head for a bit AND makes my skin feel nice.
I wouldn’t say you need to specifically get Boscia Rosewater Mist with Witch Hazel, because Costco’s stock is inconsistent across stores and time, and becuase full price this stuff is $24. But consider putting a facial mist on your list for the next time you venture out into the wild world of retail. Target has many options, and you can even make your own concoction. I have a travel spray bottle filled withe tea tree oil and water, which I’d imagine would be just as good as my $10 Boscia impulse buy.
Basically, what I’m saying is, always take a stroll through the Costco beauty aisles before you check out, and wherever you are, treat yourself to something purely frivolous and comforting - all the time - but especially now.
