Wear, Watch, Want #143: The Cloudy Clog Legacy Edition

Can you tell that it’s getting increasingly difficult to figure out something I’ve worn in the last week that I haven’t already mentioned? I’ve been wearing the same things every day for over a month! One of my favorite things to wear, quarantine or no, is Athleta’s Cloudlight tees. I have two different styles, one is this ribbed number, which is tight and makes my muscles look far more toned than they actually are, and the other is a looser, v neck longsleeve tee in the softest material you can fathom. So soft you might say it’s… cloud… light? These shirts are always deeply discounted, in fact I have two of the black v neck because they were like $20 and if you love something, buy two. They don’t have my exact v neck tee online anymore, but it’s very similar to this one. They’re perfect for everything, including never leaving the couch.

Watch: Legacies

I watched The Vampire Diaries for a few seasons, I’ve never seen The Originals, but I love the spinoff of the spinoff, Legacies. I started watching last year when it hit Netflix, almost entirely because of this piece on Autostraddle. The second season was released on Netflix a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to watching. And… I didn’t remember anything from season one. Lucky for me, I remembered I loved the first season, I have nothing to do, and the first season is still on Netflix. So I just started from the beginning. It’s been great. And truly, I do NOT remember enough to even call this a rewatch, even though it is.

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but when I was watching The Vampy D’s I screamed when Joseph Morgan (Klaus) showed up because I knew him from Hex, the terrible but fun show about (get this) a witch at a boarding school. Hex is terribly hard to find but it’s worth watching if you can, if only because of all the actors who are now much more well known, and in the case of Michael Fassbender, very famous. I will also say that I can’t enjoy Michael Fassbender anymore now that’s he’s a known Terrible Man, and looking back Hex has some real issues with consent. So.. on second thought maybe don’t watch Hex! Watch Legacies instead!

Want: Stylish House Clogs

I have this dream of having some super chic, but also dorky (because clogs) clogs that I can wear around the house. Like slippers but more streamlined and less fluffy. My ideal are the Jenni Kayne Oiled Leather Moc Clogs, but they cost $375 and when I read that I think I did a literal spit take. I’m sure they’re grand, but Jenni come on! On a slightly cheaper route, there are these Haflinger clogs, that seem lovely but I’m already 5’8” and don’t really need platform house shoes. Normally, I wear fuzzy Costco Ugg knockoffs in the colder months and Birkenstock EVA sandals in the warmer months, so when I saw that Birkenstock makes EVA Bostons I thought, “This is it!” But they turned out surprisingly hard to find. The hunt continues, and for the meantime I just bought these ridiculous beauties, that I think may be leagues away from the Jenni Kayne look I dream of, but they do suit me to a T.
