Never Forget to Moisturize Again With This Easy, Quick Balm
I have such a hard time remembering to apply moisturizer before I apply makeup. Often, it’s because I want to slap on some concealer and just GO, even though I know makeup applies better on moisturized skin. I know I want to hydrate my skin, but I also know I’m gonna be lazy about it. Luckily, I found a solution that’s cheap, easy, and WORKS.
e.l.f., a company I LOVE for affordable yet hard working products that you can easily grab on a Target run, knew just what a person with my dilemma needed. Their Prep & Hydrate Balm comes in an easy to use stick that you just swirl across your face and BOOM! You’re hydrated. It soaks in amazingly fast - so fast that the first time I used it, I used far too little and had to reapply to cover my whole face. You use circular motions to sweep the stick over your gorgeous mug and within seconds you’re ready for whatever next step you choose. I tend to use my (clean!) fingers to rub it in a little, but that’s more because I’m impatient, not because the product needs it.
This is also a great product even if you’re not going to apply makeup over it. If just just need some hydration but you don’t want to faff around with your oils or pumps or whatever. Or maybe you don’t want to, or can’t, use your hands! Real talk: The scenario I came up with was “It would be great for camping!” because in my (not a camper) mind you would have dirty hands but would still be dedicated to performing your skincare routine while in the wilderness. I have literally no idea if this is a realistic scenario. But if it is, throw a Prep & Hydrate stick in your bindle and take it to the mountains!
The one downside to this product is that it doesn’t contain SPF. I’ve been using this when I know I’m going to apply something like Dr Jart Cicapair Cream or It Cosmetics CC Cream all over my face, because those products both have SPF. But I’m so into the ease and convenience of this balm that I’m now on the hunt for a facial sunscreen stick. Watch this space. For now, though, e.l.f has given me the perfect solution for my moisturizing struggle, AND it only costs $8.
