And Another Brow Product is Added to My Menagerie

The most common thing I write about, after TV shows, is probably brow products. I love myself a strong brow. When I look at photos of myself before I started filling in my brows I think, "Oh, the dark ages." Anyway, as I mentioned last week, Soap & Glory has made their US range cheaper and more easily accessible, which means I've been more willing to give new products a go. When I saw that Soap & Glory had a brow gel, you know I couldn't add it to my cart fast enough.

At first glance, Soap and Glory's Archery Volu-Boost Brow Fibre Gel reminds me of Benefit's Gimme Brow, particularly if you knew Gimme Brow with the old packaging (need a reminder? I reviewed it here!). The tiny tube with the tiny brush, the effect of filling in your brows, but not too much. It's all very similar. The only difference? The price point! I stopped using Gimme Brow, despite loving it, because I felt like what you got wasn't worth what you paid. Archery is basically the same thing, but at less than half the price. BINGO.

Archery comes in three shades, essentially light, medium, and dark (just like Gimme Brow). I went with Blonde Luck, the light color. I'm used to using a pencil or a likewise heavy product to fill in my brows, so when I first tried this gel I thought maybe I went too light. But once I stepped back from the mirror I actually liked the effect. I tend to reach for Archery when I'm wearing very sparse makeup, but I want to look pulled together. Say I'm just working at home, but I need to run a couple of errands and go to Pilates class later, and it would be nice to toss on some mascara, blush, and have slightly more substantial brows. Boom. Archery to the rescue.

Here's a comparison shot, this time with my brows filled in with Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Blonde (review here). This is what I use when I go for a more full-on makeup look. I like that I can be versatile and choose what look works for me, but at the same time I'm very tempted by microblading (In my fantasy life where I have $$$). It's just the brow junkie in me, I can't resist...
