Buy Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mini Size and Get Glam for Less Green

I love blush. I don't know if it's because my skintone is best described as "translucent," or because my mom, who is not a makeup fiend like her daughter, always carried around a Clinique blush compact with her. I don't mess around with bronzer or highlighter, and I can't imagine contouring each and every day, but without blush I feel like a corpse.

My go-to favorite blush range is Tarte's Amazonian Clay, which I reviewed in this blog's infancy. I've been using Tarte's cheek products since their cheek stain was the hottest must-have on the makeup scene way back in the early aughts, and those Amazonian Clay blushes are fantastic. But if I had to choose a cheek product that I've coveted for years and years, it's the Hourglass Ambient Light collection. Holy crap that whole range is just gorgeous, and it makes you look like a luminous angel. All Hourglass products, in my opinion, are exemplary. They're also expensive

I recently discovered, however, that you can get mini versions of the Ambient Lighting Blush for $24. Now, you are getting a small amount (it's a mini, after all) but blush lasts a long time, even if you're a maniac like me, so it's not like you'll really notice. What you will notice, is that you're getting that gorgeous Hourglass blush and only paying $24. Can you get anything from Hourglass for $24 that lasts longer than a month? This might be the only thing.

Here's a photo of the blush in my hand, because if I heard that the mini size was 0.04 oz I'd say, "Thanks for that cool, meaningless number!" I use this blush every time I wear makeup (four days a week, on average?), I would not describe myself as having a light hand, and there's barely a dent in it.

The blush come in four shades - I have luminous flush - and I will say that I did open the boxes and checked what mine looked like before purchasing. The way Hourglass makes their Ambient Lighting products, the colors are marbled with blush and the lighting powder, and some of them are almost ALL lighting powder (the light color) and barely any blush. I wanted more blush and just a little light. No Sephora cast members stopped me, but the only reason I was rifling through all the boxes was because I couldn't find anyone around to give me the thumbs up. Just be cool is all I'm saying. The last thing you want is to get banned from your local Sephora.
