You’re Still The One: Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
I started using oil cleansers in 2011, and I have never looked back. I’ve tried many, and loved many too, but none have come close to Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm.
Nothing else makes my makeup/sunscreen/general grime melt away like this balm. It doesn’t leave a residue on my skin, so if I’m coming in from a late night and just want my makeup off and forget to double cleanse, I still feel like a clean slate.
In my original post about Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm, I mention that my favorite oil cleanser for years was Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil, which got much harder to find and I eventually pivoted to only using Clinique’s Balm. I’ve tried others for little stints along the way (Cerave’s is the only one to compare to Clinique, and I was briefly obsessed with Naturopathica’s but they have a new formula now that I can’t speak to), but I always come back to Clinique.
The formula is so simple and so effective, it’s just unbeatable. I loathe washing my face in the sink, and I always shower before bed, so I apply my Take the Day Off Balm to my dry face, give it a little massage, then rinse off once I’m in the shower. Every last bit of mascara, concealer, and sunscreen is gone almost instantly, leaving my face nice and clean and ready for bedtime skincare.
One regular sized jar of this balm lasts absolutely forever, and the one I’m using now I got at Costco. It’s also frequently at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, and even if you can’t get a discount, the regular price is so, so low for what you get. And of course, it’s Clinique, so there are no fragrances, and it’s allergy tested and non-comedogenic. She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s going to gently but effectively clean your whole face.
