This Rolling Pin is So Amazing, I’m Mad I Only Got One Recently

As previously mentioned, I have been running a little dog treat bakery out of my kitchen. I tried using silicone molds like this for every recipe, but many really do need to be rolled out and cut for them to actually work. For awhile I had a lovely marble rolling pin, but I dropped it and it broke in half in a way that did look very ancient Greek ruin but did make it unusable. Then I bought a wooden one that was fine but it couldn’t go in the dishwasher and gave my dog treat dough varied thickness that made it virtually impossible to have an even bake on a whole batch of treats. I thought I’d try one of those rolling pins that had little thickness guides on the side, and when I tell you I rolled out ONE batch of dough and knew I had been struggling in vain for YEARS and immediately went into a simultaneous mode of joy and annoyance. If you cannot manage to roll out dough evenly, you NEED one of these rolling pins.

Rolling pin with side pieces that control thickness

There are many to choose from via our evil overlord Amazon, but many are metric only, and some don’t have the measurements printed ON the rings which… why. So I got this one, because it had thicknesses printed on the rings in fractions of an inch. Also the listing didn’t say it was dishwasher safe but I mean, look at it, it’ll be fine.

Thickness rings on a rolling pin

She’s not just fine, she’s amazing. This rolling pin made rolling out dough SO easy. I still had to take my tiny cookie cutter and cut out a thousand little shapes, but seeing all the cookies come out the exact same thickness was SO satisfying, it was all worth it. My dog treats are uniform and bake evenly and are definitely worthy of selling for real human money.
