An Airless Pump Jar is Perfect For Traveling With Micellar Water

Usually when I travel, I buy a package of makeup remover wipes and use those to wash my face in the morning. (I have oily skin and I like washing my face in the morning, and I also loathe washing my face in the sink). Right now I’m away from home for 2.5 weeks, and I didn’t really want to use makeup wipes for that long, so I had to find a way to bring my usual routine on the road. At home, I use Bioderma on a reusable cotton round, and I have a gigantic pump bottle of Bioderma and a stack of reusable cotton rounds that I keep in a large jar (clean) and a small wash bag (dirty). The cotton rounds weren’t too hard, I just put four of them in the tiny wash bag and I could wash them at the house, but even though Bioderma comes in tiny bottles, I knew that if I had to pour/squeeze my micellar water onto the pad, I’d use waaay too much. So I put my Bioderma in an airless pump container, and it works perfectly.

I learned about airless pump containers from — where else?! — TikTok. A woman recommended them for a changing table, so you could just press on the container and get a perfect dollop of diaper rash cream. I decided if it worked for diaper rash cream, it would work for Aquaphor, so I got one. Aquaphor comes in a tub and a tube, and the tube sucks. The product always separates and you go to squeeze some out and you just get oil and it’s a mess. But the tub requires you to put your fingers in it over and over (gross), so an airless pump seemed like the perfect solution. It was, in fact, NOT the perfect solution, but now I had an airless pump dispenser sitting around and I decided to clean it up and use it for Bioderma.

It’s absolutely perfect for micellar water. I can control how much product comes out, so I know I’m not wasting tons of product by pouring it out and absolutely soaking a cotton pad. I do 2-3 pumps on my cotton round, swipe my face, and it’s just like I’m at home. I still think an airless pump bottle would be great for Aquaphor, and maybe I just didn’t get the right one, but for now, it works for Bioderma and that’s all I need.
