Gift Guide 2024: Tinned Fish
I love gift guides — kinda because I think they’re silly, kinda because I like them (because they’re silly). I have made a gift guide every year for over a decade, until last year, because I was hospitalized. This year, I’ve been in a natural disaster and living every day with existential dread because this might be the time the great experiment that is America actually fails for good. SO! This year I’m doing a purely aesthetic gift guide, but with an even more specific theme. Short backstory: There are certain things that I find so visually pleasing, I will always be attracted to them and want them in my life. They make me happy and I could use some happiness, and maybe these things will make you happy too. There are many, many items on my “aesthetically pleasing objects” list, including: Rotary phones, squids and octopuses, leopard print, disco balls, cowboy boots, skeletons, and more. But I’m going to focus on three food items I love the look of for this year’s gift guide, and showcase a selection of items featuring these foods. First up, TINNED FISH!
