I’m Replacing My Bumble & Bumble With This Drugstore Buy
Many years ago I discovered Bumble and Bumble’s Invisible Oil Hair Primer and it was a lifesaver. I had these absolutely insane baby hairs that acted like actual baby hair (stuck straight up in the air with no rhyme or reason) and using the Invisible Oil kept them in check. I don’t really know what happened, but the electrocuted baby hairs calmed down, and I started using Invisible Oil only on my ends before blow drying, just to keep them from getting all frayed and puffy. I don’t wash my hair super often (once a week, sometimes twice), so a bottle lasted me a long time, but when I saw a potential dupe, I was optimistically intrigued. After a few months of use I can safely say: It’s amazing.
I realize Not Your Mother’s 10-in-1 Hair Perfector is presented as an alternative to It's a 10 Miracle Leave In, but I’ve never used that, so I’m comparing it to Invisible Oil, which I’ve used for years (and has now been replaced).
I wasn’t sure a drugstore brand could provide the kind of formula that rivals a salon product, but Not Your Mother’s makes my favorite aerosol dry shampoo, so I trusted them enough to give 10-in-1 Hair Perfector a try. I use NYM Hair Perfector just as I used Invisible Oil, and the results are the same. They work in the same way, and despite having a different scent, I can’t really tell the difference. I only use either of these products on my ends, so I can’t speak to what they do at the crown, but for smoothing ends and protecting from heat damage, they’re basically the same. I use It’s a 10 Miracle Blowdry Volumizer on my roots, and Not Your Mother’s 10-in-1 Hair Perfector on the ends, and my hair is finally looking the way I want from day one. Not Your Mother’s is cheaper, easier to travel with, and a breeze to pick up on a Target run - I can’t imagine I’d go back to Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Primer any time soon.
