My Dryer is Now *Truly* Lint Free Thanks to This Dyson Attachment
Once I learned that the leading cause of house fires is dryer lint, I was immediately on high alert. I check the lint trap before and after I put anything in the dryer, and if there’s even a speck of lint I’m cleaning the trap like it’s covered in fluff. This obsession, combined with my dryer’s poor design, has led to far more anxiety thn it’s worth, but here we are. I have a front loading LG dryer, and the lint tray works perfectly well, but there is lint that’s been pushed down into the dryer, past the tray, that I cannot get out. I’ve tried bottle brushes, Swiffer dusters, and even my own creation made of a wire with a Swiffer cloth wrapped on the end. I’d get some lint, but I knew there was more, and it made me SICK.
This is why, when I saw a TikTok of someone casually mentioning the attachment they have for their Dyson vacuum they use on their dryer, I RACED to Amazon and bought one. And it is even BETTER than I expected it to be.
There are a few different flexible crevice attachments that all seem relatively the same, but I specifically got this one. Dyson stick vacuums come with a crevice tool, but this one is longer and flexible. Once you use this third party crevice tool, the Dyson one honestly seems useless.
This flexible crevice attachment bends, but not very easily, and it will revert back to being (mostly) straight. This makes it more durable, in my opinion, but you do need to put some muscle into it to get it to bend. I could easily stick this attachment down the front of my dyer and maneuver it around to get into every little space, and the amount of lint that came out was shocking.
I knew there was a lot of hidden lint in there, but I was not expecting THIS much, or to have this little $14 experiment be so effective on the first use.
I don’t expect any further dryer lint catching sessions to be this productive, but after seeing how amazing this Dyson attachment is, I’m about to go around the whole house looking for nooks and crannies to vacuum.
