Wear: Nail Polish

Before a few weeks ago, I hadn’t worn nail polish since before quarantine. It just seemed like one more thing to worry about, and I typically outsource pedicures anyway. But I was getting sick of seeing my anemic looking non-polished toes, so I decided to give myself a pedicure. And then I decided to paint my fingernails as well. I felt like a NEW PERSON. If I had known the JOY I would get out of having painted nails again I would have done this months ago. I even went out and got myself some new nail polish colors (I love Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, I wrote about it here). I went into Target thinking I’d treat myself to one new color and left with THREE (Cabernet with Bae, Leaf Me Be, and Tutu the Ballet).

Watch: A Discovery of Witches

I read A Discovery of Witches, over a decade ago. The main thing I remember about it is starting the second book and not liking it as much and kind of dropping the series. Even though many people recommended it and it seemed like a series I would love! The trilogy is still sitting in my Kindle App, abandoned! But then a few years ago they adapted the book series into a TV show, and it was NOT easy to watch in the US, so I didn’t watch it. (Because I had meh feelings about the book series I didn’t really try to watch it, but it wasn’t easily accessible anyway.) Then I got a subscription to Shudder because WHY NOT, and now I can watch both seasons 1 and 2 of A Discovery of Witches and I AM IN.

A friend of mine has watched every episode (I think multiple times) and I have been texting her as I go through it, so here are my thoughts and feelings in text form:

Want: Teva Hurricane Drift Sandals

I was in Nordstrom last week, and because it’s a rare occurrence that I go OUT to the MALL I decided to take a spin around the shoe department. I have been doing a lot of virtual browsing on my phone from the couch, but there’s something about being there, and SEEING things in REAL LIFE. Oof, I gotta get that vaccine. I passed a display of these EVA Tevas, and as a fan of both Teva sandals and EVA Birkenstocks, I was intrigued. I even went so far as to try them on (I’m VERY regularly a 9/9.5/40 and I needed an 8, so size down) and when they didn’t have the color I wanted in my size I tried to order them. And they were sold out everywhere! So i went home and started looking and there were FAR more colors than they had at Nordstrom and now I can’t choose. I’m torn between red and gold/yellow. I initially wanted this blue but not only are they not at Nords, they’re not ANYWHERE (I did eventually find them but by then I was overwhelmed by options). I’m also wishing I either had small feet or they made the kids colors for adults because in kids sizes they have purple! I may end up needing multiple pairs.
