The Blush For Those Afraid of Blush
I’m decidedly not afraid of blush. In fact, I cannot imagine NOT using blush. BLUSH IS LIFE. LIterally, I use blush to make me look more alive. As a super pale person, once I use concealer or foundation to cover any redness, I find I need to put a little back in so I look… living. Even with a super pared down makeup routine, there’s always blush.
I recently got some Cheekslime (review here), and I love it, but I wanted to try MORE of the cream blushes on the market. Cream blush is having a MOMENT, and I am INTO IT. The one I kept seeing praised over and over again was Tower 28 BeachPlease Lip + Cheek Cream Blush. So when Sephora’s sale was on, I got some, in the shade Magic Hour. It’s worth the hype, but particularly if you’re a little skittish about blush.
I apply this cream blush with my fingers, first tapping a few spots on my cheeks, then blending out with a sponge or brush. The color is suuuuper subtle, but layerable. So if you’re not too sure about blush, or are afraid of ending up with clown cheeks, this is a great option. I am so, so pale, and even I needed a few layers to get the color I wanted. It’s actually hard to photograph how it looks in person. I tried snapping a photo as I was headed out the door, because I looked glowy as hell, and you can’t really tell I’m wearing blush at all.
But I look better than usual! It’s a subtle difference, one blush-skeptics might have thought unachievable. If you’re not a blush person, or not a makeup person, but you want to try something low key, subtle, and hard to mess up, Tower 28 Cream Blush is the product for you.
