Banish Grime and An Aching Back With This Cleaning Brush
Have you heard of the Drill Brush? It’s a line of cleaning brushes that attach to your drill, so you can harness the power of super scrubby twisty brush action by just holding a drill. I have wanted one for a long time. I already have the little Power Scrubber, and I love it, so imagine how great it would be to have a BIG version.
But here’s the issue: I don’t own a drill.
So I needed to go another route, since the tiny Ikea drill that I use once in a blue moon isn’t really equipped to use different drill bits, let alone a drill brush. After a little searching, I found the Homitt Electric Spin Scrubber. It comes with four brush heads and multiple extension poles, so it can be as short as an arm’s length or as long as about 4ft (they don’t say online how long the brush arm is with all the extensions, so this is a guess).
The pole comes in three pieces, but you need to use the top one (with the power button and charging port), with the bottom piece for the shortest length. The piece with with the power button doesn’t have a brush attachment, just a connector. If you want to make it longer, you can add that piece in the middle, which can also extend to be even longer, like so:
Then you can choose your fighter brush head.
I mostly use this brush to clean my shower, and it’s very easy to switch between different brush heads. I use the pointy one for the edges, the rounded one for the floor and low walls, and the large flat one for when I really want to attack some areas (it’s a stiffer brush) and the upper walls of the shower (the dome brush is harder to control when you’ve got this big electric pole waving in the air).
It’s also super handy to have the brush head be able to tilt at an angle. This makes scrubbing the shower floor even easier. This magic cleaning wand is also rechargeable, so you don’t need to keep feeding it batteries. I tend to give it a charge after every use, because then it won’t take too long and I can charge it while I do other house cleaning, then put everything away at once when I’m done. As for cleaners, I use Scrubbing Bubbles, and I spray it in the shower and leave it for a few minutes before I come back and attack it with the brush. You can use any cleaner you like though, just give any brush heads you use a good rinse before you put them away.
This has not only saved my aching body from cleaning-related arthritis flare ups, it’s also made my shower cleaner. My shower looked perfectly fine, but the first time I used this brush I found a few spots that brought up some grime and the runoff was a sort of rusty brown. Now I use this brush every week and I’ve never had gross wash water again.
