Wear, Watch, Want #133: The Well Hydrated Stalker Edition

Wear: Ello Glass Water Bottle

I got pneumonia in the middle of December, right before I was about to travel, and the only way I was going to make the trip in any comfort was with the help of drugs and a good water bottle. I, like I’m guessing every other person, own roughly ten thousand water bottles. At least it seems that way. I don’t own that many, but the ones I have are HUGE. I needed something a bit smaller, so that my weakened body could carry it comfortably, and so that I could fit it in my bag. I figured this would also be a good purchase in the long term, because again, all my water bottles are enormous, and I need just a bit of variety. I bought this one, which I love because 1) It’s glass, so the water doesn’t taste all metallic and stale, 2) It’s large enough to hold a decent amount of water, but slim enough to be easy to hold and fit in a bag, and 3) It doesn’t have a straw (I hate water bottles with straws) and it has a push button lid that makes a very satisfying pop sound upon opening. Also, it has a lock on it, so you can be SURE that if you toss it in a bag and that little button gets pressed accidentally, you don’t end up with a handbag full of water.

Watch: You

I only started watching You when it hit Netflix. The first season was originally on Lifetime, and they cancelled it, but when it came to Netflix not long after, and was a huge hit (you’re welcome) Netflix picked it up for a second (and soon THIRD) season. The first season was.. fine. It was goofy and nonsensical and salacious - which is everything you want and expect from a Lifetime show. When the second season was released I wasn’t itching to watch it, I thought maybe I wouldn’t watch it at all, but then I found out the poor object of Joe’s unhinged affections in season two was played by Victoria Pedretti. You will remember her as the youngest (she’s a twin, but clearly the baby), most precious Crain child in The Haunting of Hill House.

In You, Pedretti again plays an empathetic young woman with a troubled twin brother, but this time her name is LOVE and her brother’s name is FORTY and they show both them and later their parents playing tennis and this obvious tennis obsession is never addressed. But that’s really neither here nor there. The point is, season two of You is, in my opinion, BETTER than season one, and I think it’s all Victoria Pedretti’s doing. Just like in Hill House, she is so sweet and emotional and loving and just seems AMAZING and of course Joe becomes obsessed with her, who wouldn’t?? And then you find out she has some lil’ secrets of her own and honestly? It made me love her even more. Cast her in everything, immediately.

Want: Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm

I bought that Farmacy mini set that I mentioned previously, and while it made me fall in love with the Honey Potion Mask, it also convinced me in the power of Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm. When you rub this green jelly-balm into your hands and onto your face it turns into an oil, and, at least on my skin, it provides a great, non-greasy moisture barrier all night long. It’s not as intense as my usual nighttime oils, but it also doesn’t leave a big oil splotch on my pillow. I could see using this as a summertime moisturizer, when my skin isn’t as desperate for five different intensive moisturizers layer on top of my parched skin. It’s pricy and I really don’t need it, but damn is this a good product.
