Wear, Watch, Want #131: The Lying Electric Boots Edition

My electric toothbrush was started to get a little worn down. The brush heads wouldn’t attach properly anymore. They still worked, but they were always a little askew. They also never matched the handle, which started out while but was now a dingy sort of ecru color. But the toothbrush still worked, so I never thought of replacing it. Until I looked up what electric toothbrushes cost now. Amazon (fortunately or not) remembers everything I’ve bought since 2003, so with very little effort I found out that I bought my toothbrush 6 years ago, for $80, and now the same version of that toothbrush was $35 AND had more features. I bought one immediately. It’s the same toothbrush, just a newer model, and OH MAN, I had no idea I was using a dead fossil to clean my teeth. My life feels CHANGED.

Watch: Younger

Sometimes I’m certain that I’ve featured something in this column, and then a quick lil’ search reveals that I have never written a word about it. I have been watching Younger since it premiered in 2015, HOW have I never included it? Well, that stops now. Are you watching Younger? You should be.

In order to watch Younger you’ll have to pretend that anyone would believe Sutton Foster is 26. Granted, when Younger started Sutton Foster was 40, and she could easily pass for, say, 33. But 26? No. They’ve taken this premise a tad too far. But once you just accept that everyone thinks this is plausible, Younger is fantastic and smart and heartwarming and funny and HILARY DUFF.

It also has ridiculous storylines while also providing the most realistic portrayal of the publishing industry I’ve ever seen on TV? And incredible outfits? And HILARY DUFF? (the all caps treatment also applies to DEBI MAZAR and MIRIAM SHOR, let’s be real).

For the past few seasons I haven’t had cable, or access to TV Land, so I’ve had to wait till each season was added to Hulu. But I kind of this that’s better, because it’s somehow so much easier for me to binge watch a season of 22 minute episodes than to watch one each week. Season 6 just hit Hulu a few weeks ago, I binged 5 (to remind me of what I needed to remember) and 6 in less than a week, and I can’t wait for season 7. I hope this show is on for ten more years. HILARY DUFF!

Want: Keds Scout Boot II

I don’t need these Keds boots. But I really want them, and sometimes that feels like the same thing. They seems so cool and versatile and I kind of can’t believe I’m saying that about Keds. AND, they come in a Rifle Paper Co version with a fabulous floral print and maybe I need two pairs?!
