Wear, Watch, Want #115: The Retractable Irish Legging Edition
Wear: Athleta Salutation Tights
I have tried so many different brands of leggings, and Athleta is my favorite. The sizing is consistent, there are a ton of styles, and you can get some amazing deals when they have a sale. I usually buy patterned tights, but I was looking for a solid black pair so that I could 1) wear them with patterned tops for working out, and 2) wear them instead of actual pants in my every day life. I tried on a few styles, but my favorite by far was the Salutation Tight. I have multiple pairs of Salutation Tights, both with pockets and without, and I knew these would get TONS of wear. I’m wearing them as I type this. I wore them yesterday. I need at least one more pair for when I inevitably have to wash these. They are heavenly.
Watch: Derry Girls
I knew I would like Derry Girls before I watched a minute of it, because I love (LOVE) a show about teen girls in the 90s. Derry Girls, like previous and eternal fave My Mad Fat Diary, is set in the 90s, and in the UK, but this time it’s Northern Ireland. Being a teenager is pretty much the same no matter where or when you are, but the Derry Girls have the added stress of living though The Troubles. These girls, and one boy, have crushes and school and the whole mess of being a teen, but they’re also living though a political and religious conflict that has been going on longer than they’e been alive. Derry Girls has so much heart, amazing 90s music (one of my favorite musical eras) and fashion, and all two seasons are available now in the US on Netflix. Did I cry during the last two episodes? You know I did.
Want: Retractable Screen Door
I found out this week that retractable screen doors exist, and I want - no - NEED one. It would be perfect for the door off my kitchen that leads to the backyard. My open windows/doors days are going to come to a close relatively soon, but if I don’t get one this year I’m for SURE getting one for next summer.
