Wear, Watch, Want #105: The Nuclear Liquid Fan Edition
Wear: elf Liquid Eyeshadow
I placed another elf order, and just like before, it took weeks to arrive but came with lots of extra goodies. One of the things they sent was the Beautifully Bare Smooth Matte Eyeshadow in Nude Linen. I’ve never used eyeshadow that comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator, but I have a curious nature and decided to try it out. It is a revelation. It’s a great shadow on its own to give a little definition to your lids, but it’s also a great primer for layering other shadows onto. It comes in four shades, and I’m already planning on getting Blushing Rose. But maybe I’ll get all four!
Watch: Chernobyl
I seriously thought I was one of like, a thousand people who heard there was a Chernobyl miniseries and was PUMPED. But HBO’s miniseries on the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl averaged 6 million viewers and is now the highest rated TV show on IMDb. What’s next? Am I going to find out that 6 million other people also spend hours looking at photos of abandoned amusement parks??
The best part about Chernobyl, for me, is that it features Jessie Buckley, who played Marya in the War & Peace miniseries. War & Peace came out three years ago, but I’m still talking about it as an epic series that simultaneously looked ridiculously expensive and shockingly cheap. And if you love anachronisms, War & Peace has you COVERED. Buckley is, I assume, England’s answer to any cast that needs a sad, Slavic woman. Also, I would LOVE to have her Chernobyl hair in this, the year 2019. So come for the nuclear disaster, but stay for Jessie Buckley and her wig.
Want: Hand Fan
I use setting spray after applying makeup, and for literally years I have just flapped my hands in front of my face in an effort to dry it and move on. It occurred to me THIS WEEK, that I could get a hand fan to accomplish the same thing, but 1) with less effort, and 2) more effectively. Plus, they make leopard print ones. WIN WIN.
