The Greatest Thing To Happen To Skincare Has Gotten an Upgrade
I do not know how I managed to live so long without Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patches (reviewed here). How much easier would my teenage years have been if I had these in my life? How much easier would it have been to go through Accutane in my mid-20s? WHERE were these miracle patches when I needed them most? Well, I have them now. And while my skin is the clearest it has ever been, there are still some pesky little pimples that creep up from time to time. I make sure to always have my trusty zit patches in my arsenal (that’s what I call my medicine cabinet).
But, I have recently learned, Cosrx actually makes THREE types of zit patches. Naturally, I had to collect them all.
The Acne Pimple Master Patch is the OG. This is the red, slim package. It’s the easiest one to find, and it’s the most basic. The patches come in three sizes, although I find the smallest size to be TOO SMALL, perhaps some folks out there get tiny baby pimples. These patches work best on a spot that you’ve already poked at, as they serve to draw out ALL the gunk from your breakout, leaving a flat, clear spot.
I will wear the regular acne patches out and about in the world, partly because I think they look better than a big, red, weepy extracted zit, but also because IDGAF. HOWEVER, if you want something a little more undercover, Cosrx makes the Clear Fit Master Patch, which is slimmer and sleeker than the original. These patches, which come in the flat black packaging, come in just one size and are thinner on the edges. Apparently this is so that you can put makeup over them, but I wouldn’t bother. These only come in one size, but it’s a sort of medium dimension that should cover most blemishes.
The third, most recent member of the Cosrx Zit Patch Family, is the AC Collection Acne Patch. These come in a BOX (shocking) and in various sizes. BUT, the smallest size is LARGER than the largest in the original pack. AND they have the thinner edges that help them stick to tough spots, and are also more discreet for your daytime, out-in-the-world zit maintenance. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. These patches are also infused with centella asiatica, which is my new favorite ingredient and star of Dr Jart’s Cicapair line (I love the Tiger Grass Cream). This means that while your zit patch is sucking all that gunk out of your clogged pore, it’s also healing it with the magical properties of Tiger Grass. The only downside is that these patches, as of now, are not as easy to find as the other two. I bought mine from a site called iHerb, and it was affordable and shipping was super fast, BUT it wasn’t as easy as just adding a pack of patches to, say, your Amazon or SokoGlam cart.
Here are the three patches on my hand. From the left: Original, Clear Fit, and AC Collection. I also moved my hand so the light reflected off them and you could see them better, but otherwise they all blend in pretty well, each one getting harder to see as you move left to right.
