Wear, Watch, Want #102: The Short Lithuanian Vampire Edition
Wear: Nepal Roll On Beaded Bracelet
I wear a FitBit, and even though I bought a different band to make it look more like jewelry, I thought it needed some kind of softening accessory to make it less, I don’t know, fitness-y? I found these bracelets on Etsy and they’re perfect. They come in different sizes, which is great for me because my wrists, hands, and fingers drastically change sizes from day to day, and even hour to hour. Sometimes I wake up with real swollen hands, and that’s when I’m happy to have adjustable, versatile wrist accessories. I bought one in black (1, if you look at the listing), and liked it so much I ordered another one in gray (6). These are coming from Lithuania, so be forewarned it will take a month to get to you and you may have to pick it up in person at the post office. But I think it’s worth it!
Watch: What We Do in the Shadows
When they made a 10 Things I Hate About You TV show, they had a LONG road ahead of them in terms of getting my approval (as if that matters, but follow me). That show had to do so much just to get me to think it was FINE, and then it was AMAZING! It was cancelled, probably because it’s our nature as dumb snobs to eschew something as obnoxious as a TV show based on a beloved movie, but that’s a mistake! Sometimes these things turn out amazing (Like Roswell, New Mexico, a show that is truly fantastic). This brings me to What We Do in the Shadows, a show on FX based on, and from the team that made the movie. What We Do in the Shadows (the movie) is great, and I wasn’t sure how the TV show would pan out, but it’s ALSO great!
The two can exist in the same universe too, which is a nice touch. The vampires in What We Do in the Shadows (the TV show) live on Staten Island, and have been tasked with conquering the island in the name of all vampires. But, like with the movie, they’re more interested in living their lives and hiding their true identities from their neighbors, to varying results.
Want: Shorts
I’ve uh, written about shorts before. Once here, talking about how I wanted shorts. And then I FOUND some shorts and wrote about them here. And now… I’m thinking about shorts again. The shorts I bought are sort of baggy and for wearing in the backyard and around the house. But what if I had shorts that I could kind of cute up and wear out in the world? I saw people raving on Twitter about these denim shorts from Everlane, but I’m also interested in these twill numbers. THE SHORTS SAGA LIVES ON.
