This Tumbler is Abominably Amazing (Even If This Pun Is Not)

Something I think must be a universal experience, but perhaps affects few people, is making yourself a nice cup of tea and then immediately forgetting about it. Then, when you suddenly remember that you made tea, and you reach over to take a soothing sip, it’s COLD. Then you have to decide if you want to choke down cold, not-as-lovely tea, or get up and make ANOTHER cup, which you know will start the whole process over again.

You may think buying a temperature-preserving tumbler is only for people who have a long commute, or go ice fishing, but my argument for why everyone needs an expensive, high-tech tumbler is this: What about those who forget they made tea?!

When I bought a 20oz Yeti Rambler tumbler I thought it would be great for early mornings when I have to venture outside. It wasn’t until I used it at home that I realized it is PERFECT for me, a person who likes to drink a cup of hot tea over the course of four hours. No longer will I despair over my tea getting cold before I could finish it, or, more likely, after I’ve forgotten the tea sitting next to me for the last hour.

I initially thought I’d get the 30oz tumbler, but when I saw it in person it seemed massive. The 20oz is the perfect size for me - it’s easy to hold and fits in a car cup holder (so does the 30oz one, by the way). I also appreciate that the MagSlider lid is easy to use. My dexterity is not always at 100%, and I always have to test things like tumbler lids to see if I’ll be able to use them all the time (the kind that flip up and fold back over the lid are a NO GO). This one slides back and forth very easily. And the whole thing is dishwasher safe - another necessity for me. I use this tumbler so much, that now I think i need to get a second one so I can have one to use while the other is in the dishwasher.

Yeti products aren’t cheap - this tumbler was $30 - but now that I’ve had one for awhile I think it’s absolutely worth it. Think of all the cups of tea I’ve dumped out because I let them go cold! This pricy tumbler is actually saving me money! It doesn’t hurt that it’s named after a cryptid either.

A Note: I like a very strong cup of tea with a splash of milk. I have been undergoing a search to find a tea that I consider strong enough, and as of right now, my favorite is Trader Joe’s Irish Breakfast Tea. They make a decaf option too, if that’s something you might be interested in.
