Wear: Old Navy High Rise 24/7 Sculpt Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans
I’ve talked about how much I love Madewell Curvy High-Rise Skinny Jeans before. It’s actually in that post, about Madewell’s amazing jeans, that I mention I’m going to try a pair of Old Navy’s that seem to replicate the “magic pockets” I love so much from Madewell. Well, it’s months later, and those Old Navy Jeans are my new favorite. I bought a black pair, then realized I liked them better than my Madewell Jeans, and slowly amassed a collection of Old Navy High Rise 24/7 Sculpt Super Skinny Rockstar Jeans. A collection, by the way, in this case means 3 pairs of jeans. Oh, and this week I ordered a pair of them in red, because WHY NOT. These jeans keep their shape remarkably well, and I love how stretchy they are. And those knockoff magic pockets? Work just GREAT. Plus, it’s Old Navy, so they’re affordable even at full price, but it’s Old Navy so you’re never paying full price.

I have maybe TOO much to say about Us. I’ve been reading everything I can about this movie since seeing it and really, I just need to see it again now that I know the story. It’s that kind of movie. Sometimes feeling like you need to watch a movie twice to “get it” is obnoxious, but I’m kind of neutral in this case. I don’t think I’ll go to the theater again, but I’ll watch it on HBO, you know? Anyway, instead of breaking down the whole plot of Us, I’m instead going to mention some things I’m still thinking about a week after seeing it.
Lupita Nyong’o MUST be nominated for an Oscar for this role. Every performance is good, but she is SO good. At one point I was thinking about how phenomenal her performance was and then I realized she was still in handcuffs. She’s in handcuffs for half this movie!
I thought Jason’s mask was a werewolf until I read online that it was a Chewbacca mask.
When Red first spoke I immediately thought of Elizabeth Holmes.
Why was Red’s voice scratchy anyway? And why didn’t she teach the tethered to talk? We know they can because Adelaide talks.
Where did the tethered get their outfits? You could say the coveralls were uniforms for the scientists who worked there but then why were there kids sizes? And why did they have enough outfits when the project was abandoned but the population was still growing? And what are those gloves for? Why would they have been there? And the scissors!
Basically I have LOTS of (perhaps unimportant) logistical questions I may never have answered.
Want: Allbirds Wool Runners
There has been a storefront in my neighborhood shopping center that will supposedly be an Allbirds store soon. I’ve lived here for almost a year and this store has been “coming soon” for about that long. I’ve heard that Allbirds are super comfortable, and I have joints that are always in need of comfort, but I want to try these miracle sneaks on in person since, you know, I can (or can sometime in the presumably foreseeable future). Allbirds! Open your store so I can know once and for all if I these shoes are as good as the rumors say!
