Wear, Watch, Want #128: The Preserved Nude ReRun Edition
Wear: Essence Plumping Nudes Lipgloss
Firstly, let’s congratulate Essence on being able to sell a product called “Plumping Nudes,” which isn’t actually suggestive or raunchy but just feels like it should be. Secondly, Essence has such good products at such a low price point, I can’t believe every blog, magazine, YouTuber, and whoever else isn’t raving about them constantly. I guess I’ll have to do the job. They make my favorite brow mascara, my two favorite mascaras, and now this lipgloss? Essence, marry me! I bought this gloss on a whim at Ulta and the second I tried it on at home I knew it was a winner. It’s long lasting without being sticky, it’s subtle but noticeable (MLBB Gloss Edition, if you will), and all for $4! I will say that the swatch colors on Ulta are very misleading, and I’d recommend swatching in person to find your color. I got Big Bang and it looks nothing like the color online. It’s an MLBB! A (plumping) nude! And the new gloss love of my life.
Watch: Reruns of My Own Making
I haven’t watched a single new thing this week. What have I watched? Derry Girls for the third time, Bedknobs and Broomsticks (Disney+ bay-bee), and continued my Grey’s Anatomy re-watch (I’m on season 13!). It’s the winter hiatus, so I could be catching up on shows I never got around to finishing when they were on (sorry, Claws! I got distracted), but instead I’m letting Grey’s play on and on until Netflix asks, “Are you still there?” and looking forward to the Call the Midwife Christmas episode and the return of Schitt’s Creek. But soon it’ll be Awards Bait Movie Time and probably some streaming thing the Internet is obsessed with so this is just a small, teensy, hiatus from trying anything new and potentially obsession-worthy.
Want: Avocado Saver
I’m in a food phase now where I eat a half an avocado a day. Sometimes it’s a small one, so I eat 3/4 or maybe even the whole thing, but typically it’s half an avocado. And then, what to do with the other half? I’m not trying to save it till next weekend, I just need 24 hours! But avocados are so fickle! Yes, I leave the half with the pit still in and yes, I have tried a sprinkling of lemon juice. It’s all just… fine. There must be a better way! There are all these avocado saving contraptions and I can’t help but feel like I should try one? Even though I doubt their efficacy? It’s definitely something I wan to get at Home Goods for $4 or less, but this Williams Sonoma one looks like it could actually do something.
