Breathe Easy With This Stoner Approved Air Sanitizer
I got a new couch, and due to my parents helping me out, taking advantage of sales, and my old couch not fitting in the moving pod, I now have the nicest couch I’ve ever owned. You can see a few photos of it here, and learn about why I have a tiny table on my couch arm as opposed to a side table.
The one tiny downside of this couch is that when I got it into my den I noticed a distinctive glue smell. It wasn’t the kind of off-gassing that gives you a headache, but it was very clear when I entered the room that there was new furniture in there. I tried burning candles, I tried this room spray (that I eventually had to give away - it was SO strong), and nothing was working. Then I remembered reading multiple Jolie Kerr articles (like this one) about an odor neutralizing spray that is loved among stoners, and after a quick Google I found out it was Ozium.
Here’s a quick tip from me, a thorough shopper: A single can of Ozium on Amazon is $10. If you’re unfamiliar with this product, like I was, you’ll think this is a perfectly normal price for a specialty product, BUT BEWARE! Ozium is $5 at Target and Walmart. Also, Ozium is often categorized as an automotive product, so if you can’t find it, check in the section with car stuff. Something happened to my Target’s stock so they were all marked “AS IS” for $2.50. I have tried to figure out what is wrong with these cans, and I honestly don’t see a single problem, so I bought four cans when they were on clearance.
Ozium does have a smell, but it’s kind of lemon-y and it fades quickly. There are apparently also other scents like Vanilla, Country Fresh (?), Outdoor Essence (again, ?), and New Car. I like the original scent and I now have four cans, so I’m not sure if or when I’ll explore other scents.
A little goes a long way with Ozium. It says on the bottle to spray it in the center of a room for one second. I sometimes do two sprays, but really, a small bit does a great job. My den no longer smells like new couch glue, and I’ve also started doing a quick spray on my mattress on sheet washing day.
If your’e looking to neutralize odors and sanitize the air instead of just covering up one scent with another, Ozium is your best bet. I know I’ll always have a can on hand from now on.
