The Secret to Incredible Skin? Snail Slime.

When I first heard of the Kbeauty trend of putting Snail secretions in skincare I was immediately sold. Did I need to know what the touted benefits were? Did I need to know how they got snail secretions out of snails and into cosmetics? No. All I needed to know was, "Here's a weird beauty thing" and I was IN.  

Turns out, though, snail mucin is exactly what your skin is missing, and it will change your whole life. 

There are all kinds of snail products on the market, from cleansers to masks to creams, but my new best friend is Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. This essence has 96% snail secretion filtrate which in laymen's terms is a shit ton of snail juice. All that snail slime will heal dryness, acne, hyperpigmentation, and give you a super dose of hydration and help maintain elasticity. I started to notice improvement in the texture of my skin after just a week of using this essence daily, so naturally I'm now a lifelong disciple of snail slime. 

One thing that took me awhile to get in the habit of was application. With essences you apply them by pressing the product into your skin with your fingertips.
