A Miracle! Cuticle Moisturizer Made For Press-On Nails

I am hopelessly devoted to press-on nails. They’re SO easy, and once I watched a few tutorials and learned what nails/process works for me, now I can easily get three weeks of wear out of one set.

But having amazing looking nails does mean I have to be diligent about nail care. I got into press-ons because I couldn’t stand having chipped dip nails, but I loved the polished (pun never intended but here we are) look and strength of a dip manicure. They’d chip and I’d buff them so at least they weren’t chipped and razor edged, but by then it didn’t really matter if I had some rough cuticles or callused skin. My press-ons maintain their good looks the entire time I wear them, so to keep my sanity I have to take care of my cuticles.

So I’ve gotta moisturize, easy! NOT SO. One of the secrets to keeping your press-ons on for three weeks is keeping them DRY. Dry nails. Moisturized cuticles. You see the conundrum. But so did Nail-Aid, and they made a press-on friendly cuticle jelly that not only keeps my cuticles nice, it also fits into my life easily.

Do I wish my cuticles looked freshly manicured in this photo? Yeah, of course. But this is 3.5 WEEKS into this manicure, so think it’s actually looking damn good.

You get a set of two tiny little pots of cuticle jelly. One is vanilla scented and the other is peach, and they both have the artificial drugstore smell that transports you to an Osco in the 90s. The texture of the “jelly” is slightly thicker than vaseline, but the product itself is lighter, if that makes sense. It’s gloopy but once you rub it into your cuticles it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an oily film on your fingertips. I can put on my cuticle jelly and knit, which is a huge plus.

And they say right on the package: Press-On Friendly. Having used this cuticle jelly through months of press-ons with absolutely no ill-effects, I can attest to this. I’ve even slathered on far too much Nail-Aid Cuticle Jelly before bed, and my nails have held strong.

The price is also amazing. I mean, talk about being in an Osco in the 90s — A two pack of this perfect press-on friendly cuticle jelly is less than $6. The pots are TEENSY, but you don’t need to use a lot, and I’ve been using the same ones for the past few months. I do wish I remembered to reapply more often, so maybe mine have lasted too long, but still. It’s a great deal and a great solution to my nice nails, raggedy cuticles problem.
